Garlic

Description:

Although garlic is used mainly by people to flavour their foods garlic does have medicinal purposes.

Garlic will grow well in zones 7-10 ideally in full sun/

Garlic needs deep, well-drained soil, rich in hummus.

How to Grow Garlic:

Garlic needs to be seperated into individual bulbs immediatly before planting.  You can actually grow garlic that you have bought from a local grocery store.  Be sure to plant in late autumn and space them about 6 inches apart and 2 inches deep.

For larger bulbs, prune away the flowers that shoot up in early spring, add compost in early spring around the garlic plants.

In severe winter areas you will need to plant them in early spring.

Pests and Diseases Prevention:

Avoid overwatering the soil to prevent diseases.
