Macadamia Nut Oil to Keep Your Skin Supple
You can rub macadamia nut oil into your skin if it is dry and cracked, and you feel that it would benefit from some moisture and improved suppleness. It is one of those natural products that many people are now turning to in preference to the traditional commercial body-care products with the hugely long ingredients list on the back label.
Have you ever read one of these labels, and do you understand what you are reading? It is all gobbledygook to most people, and could only really be understood by a chemist. That is what they are relying upon, because many of these ingredients can be hazardous at best and downright toxic at worst.
Some of them are chemicals designed to improve the absorption of the product into your skin by rupturing the skin cell membranes. Sure, this enables the active ingredients of the commercial product to penetrate into the lower layers of your skin, and even farther in some cases, but it also exposes your skin to attack by pollutants such as pesticides and traffic emissions, by bacteria and viruses and, worst of all, by carcinogens, many of which your skin can come into contact with, but which it can repel under normal circumstances.
Some of these skin preparations can therefore create conditions that can seriously compromise your health and well-being. This is not funny and something should be done about it, but nothing ever will be due to the amount of money used in the commercial skin care industry.
However, you can do something about it personally by refusing to come into contact with these substances and using completely natural skin care products such as macadamia nut oil. The properties it possesses offers you all that you need of a skin care product, including strong antioxidant properties that protect your skin from environmental pollutants such as tobacco and traffic fumes, and also protects your skin from the free radicals produced by the Ultraviolet radiation contained in sunlight.
The oil contains a high concentration of palmitic acid, a natural component of human skin that helps to maintain good epidermal moisture levels. Your natural palmitic acid levels reduce with increasing age, so macadamia nut oil is ideal for those with drying mature skin, particularly aging skin.
The oil is easily absorbed into your skin, and is available in many forms including creams, bath oils, massage oils and emulsified in the form of lotions. It has a natural affinity for human skin oil, or sebum, so is ideal for skin care. It is not the only such natural oil, of course, and each has its own particular characteristics. The main feature of this oil is its moisturizing effect, in that it tends to hold moisture so that it can be released when needed. Wonderful in Saops!
Many natural oils and butters can be used to care for your skin naturally, but if yours is dry and perhaps cracks easily, as some do, then macadamia nut oil would be a good choice to help keep your skin hydrated and supple.
