TESTIMONIAL- CASTLE BATHS:

 

I am a neat-freak. So imagine what I must go through to make my cats looking "picture-perfect." I have tried almost all of the grooming products that are sold in the market. Some worked better than others, but I have never been as satisfied with a product than I have with the Castle Bath's Anna line products.

To produce a "picture-perfect" cat, you need that grease-less gossamer coat, flamboyantly fluffy tail, a nicely sculpted round head, but mostly importantly, a clean and flawless face that is completely free of unsightly stains - one that emphasizes the cat's shimmer eye-popping gaze, the tiny centered button nose, as well as all the gentle curves that make up the facial silhouette.

 

Maintaining the coat has been pretty easy for me. My cats go through the daily combing, biweekly quick baths (the Metro dryer is a must!), and every other month or so, they suffer through a complete degreasing and conditioning routine.

 

Keeping the face clean, however, has been a battle for me. Although my cats tear up far less than the average, they'll still accumulate a sizable blackish gunk in the corners of their eyes. If un wiped, the gunk will melt into an ugly hue of reddish brown stain that seem to stream down the passages on the sides of the nose. Once this stain sets in, it is nearly impossible to remove it. Hence, I wipe and powder their faces religiously to keep them clean. There have been two major problems with the other products that I have been using before Castle Baths.

 

1. I needed to keep them refrigerated. There were times when I had to throw away an almost brand new bottle just because I had forgotten to put it back into the refrigerator after I was done using it.

 

2. If not powdered carefully, the cats' faces end up looking "corn-starched" and very artificial - sort of like the results of over-applying cheap make-up. I've taken advice of others and combed out the areas that have been powdered, but really to no avail, the hairs around the eyes and nose were indeed very white, but without that brilliant soft shimmer, because the individual hairs had clumped together, giving the cat a very pasty appearance.

 

Then one day, I came across the Purrinlot Cattery page. At first I was intrigued merely at the wealth of information Laura Thomas (the founder/breeder) had on her web site about grooming cats. Then I stumbled upon the products page. And although I wanted to order the entire line, I thought about giving it a test first, and quickly purchased the trio set of face shampoo, wash and powder.

 

When the items arrived, I was very excited, yet a little skeptical - could they be any different than the ones that I have been using?

 

I splashed on some of the face wash onto a cotton pad, and wiped down the face of one of my cats. It was very "cool" to observe how the little pieces of black gunk stuck to the shafts of the hair underneath the eyes effortlessly loosened their grips and fell off. In fact, I had no idea this cat had so much gunk! Silvers have that dark mascara lining around their eyes and sometimes the gunk hides in them. I had to use a second pad just because so much of it was coming off. Needless to say, it was extremely gratifying.

 

Well, then came the powder. The first thing I noticed was that it was much finer than the one that I had been using before. I dipped and rolled a Q-tip in the tub, and proceeded to apply it under the eyes. I couldn't believe it. With each stroke, the powder just magically blended and disappeared, and no, the hair did not at all clump together. I reapplied (I think I over-did it a little) it over and over just to see if it'll ever start caking. And much to my surprise, however much powder was put on the face, I couldn't even tell. The cat's face now white and bright, and for the first time, very soft and furry looking. In other words, the face was flawless, but moreover, it looked 100% natural. Yay!

 

A few days later, I tried the face&body shampoo, and loved the texture, the scent, and how the coat felt after the bath. I immediately returned to the site and ordered the pH balancing shampoo and the conditioner. Currently, I am eagerly awaiting their arrival. Can't wait to try them. :) And I will definitely post more with updates as soon as I do.
